Visitation in situations like this makes people feel good their deed and while the person of focus may not show it, they do appreciate knowing they have those around them who care even if the pain may overwhelm this appreciation.</p>

<foaf:maker><foaf:Person><foaf:name>Anothernonymous</foaf:name><foaf:gender>male</foaf:gender><yedda:age>67</yedda:age><foaf:homepage rdf:resource="http://aolanswers.com/people/6273616481633?src=rss:qb:ap" /><foaf:img rdf:resource="http://s1.anscdn.net/resources/00000016937/8cdacd7a6208e03.gif" /></foaf:Person></foaf:maker><yedda:post><yedda:type>answer</yedda:type><yedda:thread previous="http://aolanswers.com/questions/people-wnt-visit-person-surgery_504173283547729/people-wnt-visit-person-surgery_504173283547729" /><yedda:rating>3.0</yedda:rating></yedda:post>

I'll tell you what, the last time I was in the ...

<p>I'll tell you what, the last time I was in the hospital with near fatal problems, I can't even express how much joy and comfort it gave me to have someone visit me. Hospitals get pretty darn lonely when you're layin in bed watchin Matlock with tubes and pipes coming out of every orifice in your body and a few they made new holes for and you aren't even strong enough to sit up and you're on enough drugs to ground a pterodactyl. Believe me, someone coming by to see you and talk to you, it's important, it makes a big difference. Without it, you can get pretty damn miserable thinking no one cares.</p>

<foaf:maker><foaf:Person><foaf:name>Bonestructure</foaf:name><foaf:gender>male</foaf:gender><yedda:age>62</yedda:age><foaf:homepage rdf:resource="http://aolanswers.com/people/518519813696619?src=rss:qb:ap" /><foaf:img rdf:resource="http://s1.anscdn.net/resources/00000030737/8cc8564e7e2ae36.jpg" /></foaf:Person></foaf:maker><yedda:post><yedda:type>answer</yedda:type><yedda:thread previous="http://aolanswers.com/questions/people-wnt-visit-person-surgery_504173283547729/try-raise-spirits-visitation_735027147630405" /><yedda:rating>3.0</yedda:rating></yedda:post>

Because you're expected to.
